A) Dubai Miracle Garden Overview

It’s hard for me to figure out how to respond when someone asks me my top three highlights or my favorites from a trip. Each experience is magical and brings new emotions, new impressions. Dubai and its sights are no exception! And I believe the Dubai Miracle Garden is a must-see attraction before it’s time for you to step foot on the plane going back home.

Opened on Valentine’s Day in 2013, the Dubai Miracle Garden has over 150 million blooming flowers. This is stunning, show-stopping, impressive Dubai, so every attraction you can imagine here is grand and whatever one city does, it seems that Dubai can do better and will significantly exceed expectations. Such is the case with this garden-every garden that you have visited in the past seems to be different when compared to this garden. And there’s a good reason for this-the Dubai Miracle Garden is the world’s largest natural flower garden, an accolade all the more impressive due to the fact that this is a garden in the middle of the Arabian Desert! It also achieved its third Guinness Record of “World’s Largest Topiary Garden.”

The Dubai Miracle Garden is located in Al Barsha South and is open seasonally, typically from November to May, as the summer months in the UAE mean extremely high temperatures and a closure can protect the flowers. This season, the garden is open from September 29th 2023 to April 30th 2024. To fully enjoy the garden and take in this destination, three hours is recommended.

There are so many amazing sections in the garden, so I’ve provided more comprehensive information about the sights once you’re on garden grounds below!

B) What To See

  1. Emirates Airbus A380: This jaw-dropping installation is the crown jewel of the Dubai Miracle Garden-it’s a life-sized version of one of the biggest planes in the world, an Airbus A380! And it belongs to Emirates, one of the two beloved flag carriers of the UAE, known for its impressive service and long-haul, high-density routes. There are over 500,000 flowers and plants on the Airbus A380! It’s the largest item in the garden, holding its own Guinness World Record. It’s even more impressive in person and you’ll be taking a million pictures of it trying to capture it from every angle.
  2. The topiaries at the entrance: There were adorable horses, an elephant and a castle that can’t be missed as soon as you enter.
  3. Love Passage: This was such a cute tunnel! There are multiple flower arrangements in the shape of hearts that are over your head as you walk.
  4. Umbrella Tunnel: This was funky, I really liked it! Upside-down umbrellas hang over your head, right next to flowers and plants. It’s a nice respite from the sun on blistering hot days and the overall design contributes to a forest-like atmosphere. I would also note that this is the ideal place to make sure you’re pacing yourself and is a good spot to take a break from the heat, as there are chairs and tables for visitors. There are also kiosks nearby that offer refreshing cold drinks (I write more about that later!)
  5. Smurf Village: The lovable Smurf figures are seen in different outfits next to cute mushroom houses and bicycles with flowers in the front baskets. There was also a cool section of Smurfs dressed in soccer gear and jerseys that represented a wide array of countries since the garden season that I went to coincided with the World Cup!
  6. Penguins, Bears, Peacocks, Elephants: Near the Smurf Village, you can see ginormous topiary penguins and a loveable bear with a heart. There are also three elephants standing in the middle of a garden and a beautiful peacock standing in front of a garden with flowers as its body and feathers.
  7. Floating Lady: This is the latest addition to the Dubai Miracle Garden! This lady truly looks like she’s floating in the air, with her dress consisting of red and white petunias. Her arms are outstretched and you can see the Floral Castle behind her.
  8. Genie’s Castle and Moving Ballerinas: Sadly, being in this section means we were approaching the final stage of this trip to the Dubai Miracle Garden. There are two amazing, towering ballerinas that have flowers on their dresses and rotate as if they’re one of those automated toys that have cranks to make the toy move. There’s also a genie in front of a castle here! This section of the garden is very wide and has a large row of stairs, so I definitely recommend climbing to the final stairs and taking pictures at the top for a new photo perspective.
  9. Lake Park: This was my final stop and I didn’t want to leave! It’s a cute scene with a mini lake that has models of ships and a watermill. It’s a very bright area with a colorful assortment of purple, green, red, pink, blue and orange flowers. This is where I took a portrait photo and is more than the ideal place to take selfies or group photos because your background is guaranteed to be extremely vivid!

C) Know Before You Go

  1. Admission Costs: Tickets for adults (those over 12 years old) and seniors are AED 95 (25.86 USD), tickets for children between three to 12 years old are AED 80 (21.78 USD) and children under three years are free.
  2. How To Get There: Traveling to attractions in Dubai proves that yes, this is indeed a sprawling city, and the long distances are more reminiscent of Los Angeles instead of Manhattan. But you can leave it to Dubai to make everything seamless! The garden is on the Mall of the Emirates station-red line-of the Dubai Metro and the RTA Bus Route 105 travels from MOE to the garden. Taxis also drop off/pick up passengers here, and the amount of taxis by the garden entrance is always in high supply.
  3. Seasonal changes: There is something new to look forward to each season, making this garden all the more impressive. So what I saw this year might not be what you see in the future! For this new season, for example, the Dubai Miracle Garden has a sunflower field!
  4. What to Wear: This is an open garden in the middle of a desert, so dressing accordingly is key. Protect yourself from the sun with sunscreen and wear a hat as there’s minimal shade, drink water, wear comfortable shoes and pace yourself.
  5. Kiosks: The Dubai Miracle Garden has over 30 food and beverage vendors. I highly recommend taking a quick break and cooling off with something cold from the fresh fruits juice kiosk-The ice was a refresher and I was ready to continue exploring with more energy.

I was so in love with the Dubai Miracle Garden and can’t recommend it enough! This place isn’t even five out of five stars or a 10/10. This is a place deserving of seven stars and a 15/10!
